Highroad Global Excellence Certification

The following sessions may be taken individually or as part of the Highroad Global Excellence Certification, a program designed to build highly effective and authentic global leaders and team members.


1. The Highroad to a Global Mindset

For companies who have recently gone international or want to cascade cultural awareness throughout the organization

If you have expanded your international customer base or opened a new office abroad, or if you plan to do so, this program is for you. You might have a sales force suddenly being asked to capture new business around the world. Your company may be going global, but your employees may not have been intimately exposed to international business. In this course we identify how to develop a global perspective throughout your organization as well as master the basics of successful intercultural communication. Generate interest and curiosity about global business through real-world stories, case studies, video, and photography. Receive tips and strategies to solve your specific challenges. Give your staff members the skills they need to take the organization into global success.



2. The Highroad to Global Team Collaboration

For diverse teams working face to face or virtually

Working across time zones, languages, and cultures presents challenges that can keep teams from performing at their best. Studies prove that multicultural teams have the potential to be more effective than single-culture teams, provided team members’ differences are leveraged positively. Using our Divided-Ignited-United™ model, your team establishes clear goals and objectives, agrees on norms and communication protocols, and builds motivating relationships. Learn to manage your team virtually and create an overarching vision to guide you. Remove team barriers through awareness of cultural and individual differences, and build business value through high performance and creativity.

This session can be tailored for team members and/or team leaders.



3. The Highroad to Global Leadership

For leaders of global organizations wanting a high level of success and a unified vision across cultures, time zones, languages, and work styles

What is true global leadership? It is more than simply managing. To manage is to maintain the status quo. To lead is to create a global vision, communicate it effectively, and gain buy-in across cultures and sites. How do you maintain the company's ethics, standards, vision, and policies while creating an inclusive work environment? How do you inspire and motivate people you may only see face to face twice a year? Most companies address cultural issues reactively. A true global leader addresses them proactively as part of the organization's strategic plan. The Highroad to Global Leadership program gives you the pathway and the tools to lead with agility using the Divided-Ignited-United™ model. Ideally facilitated by two Highroad experts, we model the behaviors and skills we ask of our global leader participants.

Coaching and the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI - http://www.highroaders.com/docs/IDI_what_you_need_to_know.pdf) may be added to this session for more individualized leadership development.

If you demonstrate knowledge of all of the competencies, you will receive the Highroad Global Excellence Certificate.




Additional Highroad Offerings


Country-Specific Programs

For people doing regular business, virtually or in person, with a specific country (1/2 – 2 days)

This program provides the strategies you need to meet your goals and exceed expectations with your target country. Communicate effectively with partners and customers from countries such as India, China, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and many more. Learn how these cultures view negotiation, deadlines, meetings, gift giving, risk tolerance, management styles, and gender roles in the workplace. Build relationships and avoid offending through proper business and social etiquette of your particular country. Understand the cultural values that drive clients, and you will win their respect and their business.

A “Traveling Safely and Successfully to…” component may be added to this program.



Cultural Etiquette Briefings

For people faced with a sudden trip abroad and in need of quick strategies (1-3 hours)

The world moves quickly these days, and businesspeople are often asked to travel internationally on the spur of the moment. You might be asked to leave for India next week to set up HR functions there, or perhaps you are headed to Belgium tomorrow to sign a contract. Highroad’s telephone briefings give you the crucial information you need to get the best return on your investment of time and money. Topics are tailored to your questions and cover anything from what to do when you step off the plane to how to build trust with a client you’ve never met. We provide you with at least three to five key strategies for a successful trip while preserving your valuable time.



Leadership and Team Member Coaching

For leaders and team members responsible for global operations (60 minutes ongoing)

This program allows leaders to clarify their vision and goals for their international operation. It creates a plan of how to leverage cultural differences to get there. Coaching begins with the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), a scientifically valid assessment of intercultural competence. Leaders learn their strengths and areas for improvement and discover how to achieve their business and personal goals. Team members learn new skills and strategies for working effectively and agilely with global counterparts. Through coaching, they integrate authenticity with return on investment, and business with relationship management. Get the skills you need to soar in the global age.



Conference Workshops

For meeting or event planners looking for dynamic speakers on global diversity (1 hour to 1/2 day)
