1. January 2011 Speaking Engagement: “Zen and the Art of Offshoring: Building United Teams between India and the West”
A wonderful experience speaking for the Society of Intercultural Education, Training, and Research (SIETAR) in Bangalore, India. We discussed ten principles for forming strong offshore/onshore partnerships and increasing collaboration.

2. February 2011 Speaking Engagement: “Virtually Speaking”
A lively luncheon in Atlanta, GA hosted by the Georgia Council for International Visitors on successful virtual communication across cultures. In this session we will explored the causes for the continued challenge of working behind the “virtual curtain”, as well as some strategies for success.

3. March 2011 Speaking Engagement: “Project Management Across Borders”
A collaborative presentation in Atlanta, GA with my colleague Peter Nguyen from Cisco. Many project management theories and models exist, but how do we put them into action? We explored this as well as how to build successful project teams with people of varied backgrounds.

4. March 2011 Speaking Engagement: “India Roundtable – Market Opportunities and Entry Strategies”
A concrete and practical presentation with colleague C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan in Atlanta, GA. We discussed growth sectors in India, lessons learned, cultural pitfalls, relationship building techniques and entry steps.

5. April 2011 Speaking Engagement: “Zen and the Art of Offshoring: Building Resilient Teams between India and the West
A modified version of our presentation in India, this time in Denver, CO. Surrounded by the crisp air and the Rocky Mountains, the audience and I discussed how to incorporate acceptance and mindfulness into the process of building trust with offshore partners in India.


6. June 2011 Speaking Engagement: "The Spirit of U.S. Culture: Self-Awareness as a Powerful Tool for Intercultural Success."
A lively discussion for the Georgia Council of International Visitors on the importance of self-awareness and the underlying values of U.S. culture. Participants discussed regional differences and explored the business case for cultural engagement.


7. June 2011 Speaking Engagement: "Leadership: Lost in Translation"
Highroad Principal Todd Shinholster spoke in Boston, MA on the how leadership is interpreted across cultures, and how cross-cultural communications permeate our lives and the participants' work in graduate management education.


8. September 2011 Speaking Engagement: "Deadlines Across Cultures - When the Stakes are High"
Vicki Flier Hudson presented to an enthusiastic audience at the Project Management Institute about meeting deadlines around the world when the stakes are high. Participants shared stories about their challenges in the global finance arena.

9. September 2011 Speaking Engagement: "Global Leadership: The Vision, The Mindset, The Execution"
Highroad Principal Michael Todd Shinholster spoke in Miami, Florida on how corporate leaders must be culturally proactive by incorporating intercultural communication skills in how they navigate emerging global markets. Leadership, management and staff discussed how they could be more effective when dealing with both internal and external clients around the globe.
