CLIENT SUCCESS STORIES

Below are Highroad success stories we would like to share with you. We look forward to building this level of success with you.

MFG.com Sees Reduced Errors and Increased Revenues

Situation: A recent survey was conducted with MFG.com, an online marketplace that saves clients time and money by instantly matching a buyer's drawings and specifications to qualified suppliers. The survey asked MFG.com leaders and staff to describe the results they have seen since a series of global excellence programs were brought on site.

Results: Here is what the survey had to say about the value this organization gained--

--100% of those surveyed experienced improved communication flow, increased teamwork and improved relationships across borders.

--75% of those surveyed experienced decreased errors, improved work processes and productivity

MFG.com's Senior VP of Global Business Development, Sherwin Krug, had this to say:

"We have seen increased profits and revenues since these programs. Our office in China has now grown to 100 plus employees and employees that travel now do so with greater ease and less fear of creating international incidents. International cooperation including friendships are now commonplace."

An MFG.com staff member said this:

"Our product is released with less errors than before. Since training we have formed better relationships with our Chinese colleagues. We have general conversations with each other rather than just talking about work."

Successful Corporate Retreat

Situation: Arch Chemicals, a large chemical corporation with locations around the globe was searching for ways to unite and motivate their employees from all over the world at their upcoming corporate retreat. With so many different preference and styles, they worried about what topics to present to such a diverse group. They had invested a lot into the retreat, financially and otherwise, and wanted it to be a success.

Solution: Vicki Flier Hudson designed a two-hour, high impact, interactive workshop for the eighty five participants at the corporate retreat. The workshop made room for the views of all cultures and allowed people of various countries to work together in small groups, fostering teamwork.

Results: The retreat coordinator and Marketing Communications Manager had this to say about the workshop: “It’s been said that ‘You can’t please all of the people, all of the time’, but our recent experience with Vicki Flier at our 2006 Global Meeting leaves us to question how this statement could be possibly be applicable to her flawless presentation of the Cross-Cultural Skills workshop. From over 80 guests, representing countries including Singapore, France, Germany, UK, US, Japan, China, Brazil and Mexico, we received no greater positive feedback during the 3-day meeting than at the close of the Cross-Cultural Skills workshop. The consensus of the group was that the training was a “real need, not a perceived need” and that Vicki gracefully delivered relevant information that would be useful in our day-to-day business interactions. Please extend our gratitude to Vicki for offering cultural enlightenment and providing the skills we need to improve our global interactions.”

The Four Steps to Competency

Situation: Before cross-cultural training, a participant from a large, Atlanta-based corporation had difficulty communicating department and store policies to the varied cultures in her group. This knowledge gap led to wasted time and slower processes.

Solution: Highroad consultant Vicki Flier Hudson conducted a program on global excellence that included a four step process for working with cultural differences.

Results: After the training program, Highroad Global Services conducted a survey. The primary participant said: “The best concept and skill I learned was the four-step process [for communicating policies]. By the time I get to the fourth step, the issue has been resolved. This was a great class, and I have recommended it to others.”

Conflicts Resolved

Situation: A wide cultural gap interfered with productivity between an American employee and her Taiwanese boss at a Taiwanese owned mid-sized company. Their communication suffered and conflicts between them caused delays in regulatory processes and approvals.

Solution: Highroad consultant Vicki Flier Hudson created a customized training program on China and Taiwan for the company. The program highlighted boss and employee relationships, communication and business practices between the two cultures. In addition, she coached the American employee individually on working with her boss.

Results: Highroad Global Services contacted the American employee six months after the training. She stated that her relationship with her boss is “much better.” Their communication has improved, processes are flowing more smoothly and regulatory issues are being resolved in a timely manner.
